There are 37 numbered slots on the Roulette wheel, from 0 to 36. Bets can be placed on the “inside section” of the table, and include wagers on either individual numbers or clusters of numbers.

Bets can be placed on the “outside” on a variety of bets that cover 18 numbers in pairs. The choices range from high to low numbers, odd to even and red to black.

There are a total of six different 12-number bets, or “column” and “dozen” bets, and several different 17-number bets that can be placed at various locations on a Roulette table.

Tips for Playing Roulette

All of your selected bets for the next round of Roulette can be made when prompted. When you’ve finished placing your chips, also the Roulette table will show you the top ten payouts for your bets.

In addition to displaying the most recent winning numbers, the results column will also keep track of ‘Hot’ and ‘Cold’ numbers (those drawn more often and less often, respectively), as well as the percentage of red, black, odd, and even outcomes.

Knowing the inner workings of the Roulette table and wheel will give you a leg up on the competition. There are 37 possible outcomes on this wheel, from 0-36. A total of 38 numbers (0 through 36 plus an additional 00) are used in American roulette.

Make your wager on the table before the ball is dropped onto the wheel. In Roulette, you can place a variety of bets, and once the ball is released into the wheel, your wagers are immediately final.

When the wheel stops and the ball drops into a pocket, the croupier pays out the winning bets to the players at the table based on the odds they were given when they placed their bets. After this round is over, also the game will continue in the same manner as the previous rounds.

Bet Varieties of Roulette Wheel

In Roulette, you can wager on a wide variety of outcomes. Unlike in many other table games, you are not limited to placing only one type of wager.

A single wager on any of the 36 numbers on the Roulette table.

Bet on two different numbers at the same time by using the “split” option. Put your chip between any two numbers, and if the ball lands on either one, you win at odds of 17 to 1.

When you place a bet on three consecutive numbers on the Roulette table, also you are said to have placed a “street” bet. Bets on the Street payout at 11:1.

The Corner bet is a group of four numbers on the grid, and it is also known as a Square bet or a Box of Four bets. To make a valid bet, you must position your chip so that it touches the intersection of all four numbers. Returns on winning wagers are 8 to 1.

Simply put, a Six Line wager combines two separate Street wagers. A bet on a Six Line consists of wagering on two adjacent streets. To make a bet, also simply place your chips at the corner of any two streets, and the payout is 5:1.

Only in American Roulette can you make a “Five Number” or “Basket” bet. A wager that is rarely made and involves betting on the 00 and the 1, 2, and 3 spaces. You must position your chip so that its edge lies on the connecting line between the zero pockets and the 1, 2, and 3.

Types of Roulette Wheel Betting

Neighbor Bet Refers to a wager on five adjacent numbers (15, 34, 22, 5, and 17) on the wheel rather than the layout. In American roulette, this bet is commonly called a “22 Neighbor Bet.”

Covers the first 12 numbers on the Roulette board (1-12). You can make this wager in the “1st 12” section of the board.

A bet covering the next 12 numbers in Roulette’s grid is called the “second 12.” (13-24). This wager is played on the ‘2nd 12’ area of the board.

Roulette bet covering the third set of 12 numbers (25-36). To make this wager, go to the “Third 12” area of the board.

Bets on the numbers 1 through 18 are placed in the corresponding section of the Roulette table, also as the name suggests.

You place your chips in the 19–36 section of the Roulette table, also as the name suggests.

All even numbers are bet upon. Place the “Even” column next to the “Red” column on the table.

All the odd numbers on the table are being bet on. The “Odd” pile is set down beside the “Black” pile.

Black – Wagers that are placed on only the “black” numbers. You can make this wager by putting your chips in the “Black” section.

Red Bets are those that are placed on only the red numbers. Place your chips in the “Red” section of the betting table to make this wager.
